Community solar could help reduce your electricity costs.
NRG has built a community solar array (CSA) in Rutland on Hillside Road. The electricity produced by the CSA helps to reduce the utility bills of the members. The production from the CSA is virtually divided amongst the 50 members. The NRG CSA provides members the opportunity to reduce their electric costs without the liability of system ownership. Although the first project is complete, a second project will be built in the Rutland area.
4 Simple Steps to Solar
50 Rutland residents sign up and start a "Rutland Solar Community."
NRG builds a solar array in an open area that produces power for the community.
The community solar array is virtually divided up among the members.
Each member receives the benefits of affordable electricity generated by their virtual portion of the power produced by the array.
